Taking Care of your Leave Out Hair while wearing the Madre' Technique

One of the reasons why women wear extensions is for the ease of it.  However your hair is the foundation for any extension and must be cared for. I always tell my clients even though the Fuher (High quality) line of hair is very resilient, you must still take the same measures to care for it like it was your very own.  Remember this is an investment for you. Here are some great tips for excellent home maintenance.

1)Shampoo your hair and extensions every 2-3 weeks (for higher activity women it should be every 2 weeks)
2)When shampooing put shampoo and conditioner in a applicator bottle.  Dilute with a little water and apply to the extensions and to the scalp for healthy scalp care.  Make sure all shampoo and conditioner has been removed.
3)Carefully comb extensions in a downward motion with a wide tooth comb. ( Be careful not to pull hair near the root area, this is what causes loose threads.)  Apply a light leave in conditioner to your hair and extensions.
4)Sit under a hooded dryer for :45 to 1:00 to guarantee all braids are completely dry.  It is true the hair can mold if not dried properly.
5)Blow Dry the tresses.
6)You should always add a light oil to your natural hair prior to flat ironing (Dont forget the back and sides ).  My favorite is Moroccan Oil.  You can also buy Argan Oil from your nearest Sally Beauty Supply.  This leaves the hair oil free and soft to the touch.

Very Important
Night Time Care.  Never skip a night without wrapping your hair.  Be careful to comb the leaveout hair seperately.  THIS IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF YOUR EDGES AND NAPE OF THE HAIRLINE THINNING WHILE WEARING WEAVES. Its not necessarily a weave that was too tight.  You would not just go to bed with your own hair.

I will be having an Complimentary extension seminar coming up in January to have an open Q&A Forum on Extensions for the new year.
